The Legacy Center

Need:

The US Surgeon General has declared  a national epidemic of loneliness and isolation. That issue is discernible, especially among seniors and veterans, in the six small communities of north Wheeler County. With few local activities for adults, many spend their days in isolation, which leads to declining physical and mental health and well-being. We can change that by creating a place where all can connect, contribute, find purpose and thrive.

Vision:

To create a community center where every resident, especially  seniors and veterans, can enjoy a more healthy, happy, fulfilling and  vibrant life, while upholding vitality and stewardship as a local  legacy.

Mission:

To provide opportunities for all adult residents, especially seniors and veterans, to enjoy a more healthy, happy, fulfilling and vibrant life, while upholding vitality and stewardship as a local legacy.

Divine Directives:

The Legacy Center upholds numerous Divinely inspired principles and directives. So, many they have their own Inspired Mission page - click here to see them all.

Sustainability:

The Legacy Center will be funded by The Mustard Seed Thrift Store, which will receive donations of unwanted, gently-used items from community members.
